Get started with your AmeriHealth plan

Welcome to AmeriHealth! Whether you are a new or returning AmeriHealth member there are a few ways to get your benefits off to a great start.

Choose a primary care physician

Your plan doesn't require you to choose a PCP, but it's still a good idea. Your PCP is your main partner for giving you annual health checkups, answering your health questions, and helping you decide what specialists to see when necessary. They will get to know your health history and medical concerns and can serve as your key partner in taking care of your health. You may choose a PCP who's in our network or one who isn't, but you'll generally pay less with an in-network PCP.

How to find an in-network provider

Our online Find a Provider tool can help you find in-network health care providers (like doctors, specialists, hospitals, urgent care centers, or retail clinics).

  1. Visit amerihealthmedicare.com/providerfinder.
  2. Sign in or search your location. Enter your health plan for in-network matches. Click All Plans to find your health plan by name.
  3. You can narrow your search by typing in a specific doctor, specialty, hospital, or condition. You can also easily sort and refine your results by distance, gender, and languages spoken.
  4. Select a provider's profile to view additional information, such as affiliations, hospital admitting privileges, medical school attendance, residency completion, board certification status, and quality recognitions.

Or contact our Member Help Team. They can help you find a provider.

Visit your PCP

Your PCP is your partner in taking care of your health. At your annual checkup, you'll develop a care plan and discuss recommended preventive care. When you're not feeling well, but you can wait for the next available appointment, your PCP is the right place to go. They can diagnose what's wrong and either prescribe medication to treat the problem or suggest a specialist if you need one.

You have a $0 copay for an in-network PCP visit.
