Important Open Enrollment updates for individuals and families

For 30 years, AmeriHealth has been dedicated to offering affordable and comprehensive health insurance to residents throughout the Garden State. We have been a part of the individual market since the exchanges launched in 2014, and we will continue to be a part of this market in 2026.

Open Enrollment began November 1, 2025. If you would like to change your plan, you can do this any time during Open Enrollment. To enroll in a plan that begins January 1, 2026, you must enroll by midnight on December 31, 2025.

This Open Enrollment will be different from recent years in a few important ways. Here are some things to look out for.

This page will be updated as we learn more. Check back here regularly for updates.

Delayed renewal letters

AmeriHealth received state approval for our renewal notices later than anticipated and will send your renewal notice soon. Be on the lookout for these notices in early November.

If you don’t want to wait for your renewal notice, or if you have any questions about your renewal, call us at 1-855-832-2008 (TTY: 711) to speak with a licensed insurance agent.

Enhanced Subsidies expiration

In 2021, enhanced premium tax credits were introduced through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to make health coverage more affordable during the COVID-19 public health emergency. These enhanced tax credits were later extended through the end of 2025.

Unless Congress takes action to extend the enhanced tax credits, they will expire at the end of 2025. Please be assured that if the enhanced tax credits expire, financial assistance will still be available in 2026 at the pre-ARPA tax credit levels.

What if the Enhanced Subsidies are extended during Open Enrollment?

In the event enhanced premium tax credits are extended by Congress, AmeriHealth will send an updated renewal communication with your 2026 tax credit and premium amounts. We are committed to keeping you informed with the most up-to-date information, ensuring you make the best decision for your health care coverage.

A note to those with a $0 premium

If your current 2025 premium responsibility is $0, please note that it may increase with the expiration of these enhanced subsidies. Policies which are paid in full, prior to the start of the following month, provide the best member experience when visiting your doctor.
