At AmeriHealth, we are focused on promoting whole-person health and health equity. We believe everyone should have the same chance to live a longer, healthier life. To help us achieve this goal, we are inviting you, our members, to consider joining our new Health Equity Advocacy Council.
Our Health Equity Advocacy Council (HEAC) is a volunteer group of AmeriHealth members that meets with our Health Equity department for honest discussions about health equity and disparities. These discussions will guide AmeriHealth’s future actions and programs with the goal of positively impacting communities and improving health outcomes in our area.
In our region, as in many parts of the U.S., ZIP code is a greater determinant of your health than your genetic code. We believe that engaging with our community offers us the best opportunity to help achieve more equitable health outcomes.
AmeriHealth is committed to continually improving to better meet the needs of the diverse communities we serve. As a HEAC member, you will represent your community to help us identify and prioritize opportunities for improving health outcomes.
We hope to develop deep, ongoing community relationships, so we ask for a minimum of a one-year commitment to attend all meetings (four per year) and fully participate in the review of materials.
