Use your member ID card to get quality care from our extensive provider network. If you received a new ID card before your new plan year starts (for example, January 1), you should continue using your current ID card. When your new plan year starts, you can destroy your current card and begin using the new one you received. Remember to show your ID card to doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers whenever you receive care. It has important information you and your health care providers need to know.
Need a temporary copy of your ID card? Log in at amerihealthexpress.com and use the ID quick link to print a paper copy or to submit a request for a new card.
Note for HMO members: If you are an HMO member, you must choose a primary care physician (PCP) to treat you for your general health needs and refer you to in-network specialists. If your member ID card says "Valid PCP Required," it means you haven't selected a PCP.
How to choose your PCP:
You will receive a new member ID card with your PCP’s name and contact information within 7 to 10 business days.
When you need care, you should see your personal doctor first, because he or she has the most complete picture of your medical history. If your doctor is unavailable and you need immediate medical attention, you have options for care, including urgent care centers, retail health clinics, and Telemedicine if this benefit is available to you. It's important to know your options — before you need them.
