Physician Advisory Committee

AmeriHealth formed the Physician Advisory Committee to discuss issues arising from interactions among allopathic/osteopathic physicians, their patients, and AmeriHealth. The Committee serves as a platform to exchange ideas and present peer/community interests to AmeriHealth, regarding health care matters at the national, regional, state and local levels.
These issues may include, but are not limited to:

  • improvement of health care and clinical quality;
  • improvement of communications, relations and cooperation between physicians and AmeriHealth;
  • matters of a clinical or administrative nature that affect the interaction between physicians and AmeriHealth.

The Physician Advisory Committee meets at least once every six months. The committee is made up of 12 physicians, including AmeriHealth’s chief medical officer (or his designee), who serves as chairperson. Each physician was selected for their expertise and commitment to improve health care standards and practices.
