AmeriHealth New Jersey introduces a new EPO product

On October 1, 2011, AmeriHealth New Jersey introduced the new Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) product. AmeriHealth New Jersey EPO is a network-based product that allows members to visit in-network providers and hospitals directly without a referral. Although choosing a primary care physician is strongly encouraged to promote preventive services and coordinate health care, it is not required with this plan. AmeriHealth New Jersey EPO members must use network providers in order to access their benefits; this plan does not have out-of-network benefits. Under this plan, preventive services are covered at 100 percent. AmeriHealth New Jersey EPO members will have "SEH EPO" printed on their ID cards. EPO Health Savings Account (HSA) members will have cards that read "SHE EPO HSA."

To check member eligibility through NaviNet, select Member Eligibility and Benefits Inquiry from the Plan Transactions menu. If you are not NaviNet-enabled, go to www.navinet.net and select Sign up from the top right. Providers can also check eligibility through the Provider Automated System by calling 1-800-275-2583.
