Process Changes for Baby FootSteps® Prenotification and Inpatient Routine Maternity Services Status Letters

As previously communicated in Partners in Health UpdateSM, Baby FootSteps prenotification letters are no longer being sent to providers. Additionally, the inpatient routine maternity services status letters, formerly concurrent review approval letters, are no longer being mailed. Rather than receive letters, providers will now be able to verify a member’s enrollment in Baby FootSteps, obtain her maternity prenotification reference number, and get the inpatient routine maternity services status by using the NaviNet® web portal or the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system. For detailed instructions on how to do this, please see the October edition of Partners in Health Update.

Please note that the Initial Maternity Patient Questionnaire form should still be completed and mailed back to us immediately following the first prenatal visit. This process is not changing.
