AmeriHealth New Jersey Donates $20,000 to the Larc School

Funds benefit local students with disabilities

Mt. Laurel, NJ - October 23, 2006 - AmeriHealth New Jersey recently contributed $20,000 to the Larc School, a special education school that provides free education and services to disabled students and young adults in southern New Jersey.

The contribution augments AmeriHealth's ongoing support of the Larc School, the sole recipient of the proceeds from the annual AmeriHealth Ben Franklin Bridge Challenge. The Larc School received over $110,000 in proceeds from the 2005 race.

"The Larc School makes a big difference in the lives of many young disabled students and in communities throughout South New Jersey," said Judith L. Roman, AmeriHealth Insurance Company of New Jersey President and CEO. "We're proud of our relationship with the Larc School and pleased to provide this check to benefit the deserving children at the school. We hope the 2006 AmeriHealth Ben Franklin Bridge Challenge will be the biggest and most successful yet."

This year, the AmeriHealth Ben Franklin Bridge Challenge will be held on Sunday, November 5. All proceeds from the USATF-certified 10K race or the two-mile fun walk benefit the Larc School.

The event has grown from 750 participants in 2002 to 2,200 participants in 2005. This year, race officials estimate 3,000 participants from all over the world will enter the race. The race begins at the base of the Ben Franklin Bridge on the Camden side. Participants go up and over the bridge and back again, through the scenic Camden Waterfront, past Campbell's Field, the Adventure Aquarium, the Battleship New Jersey, and make a final dash into Rutgers Camden campus.

Participants can register online at www.runthebridge.org or by mail with a completed registration form from the website. Participants may also register in person at Haddonfield Running Company, 144 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, NJ, November 2-4, or at Rutgers University Student Center on Race Day, November 5.
