UMDNJ-University Hospital to be non-participating on November 9, 2010Despite our best efforts, UMDNJ-University Hospital (UMDNJ) will no longer be a participating provider in the AmeriHealth network as of November 9, 2010. The official termination date is July 9, 2010 and after the four month extension period, UMDNJ will cease to be participating on November 9, 2010. AmeriHealth will not issue any new authorizations for in-network medical services performed at UMDNJ on or after November 9, 2010. AmeriHealth will honor authorizations already approved on or after November 9, 2010. Emergency services will still be covered on an in-network basis on or after November 9, 2010. All other non-emergent services will be covered on an out-of-network basis beginning November 9, 2010. Continuity of care exceptions can be requested for members in an active course of treatment at UMDNJ. Providers can contact our Care Management and Coordination department at 1-800-227-3116 to request this. AmeriHealth will still have all of New Jersey’s acute care hospitals in our network other than UMDNJ. For a list of our participating hospitals, find a provider. Providers can contact their Network Coordinator and members can contact the Customer Service number on the back of their identification card with any questions. |
