AmeriHealth+ HRAs (Health Reimbursement Accounts) are personal accounts funded solely by the group. HRAs can reduce a group’s exposure to federal and state taxes, including Social Security and Medicare taxes. In addition, a group’s HRA contributions may qualify as a fully deductible business expense. Health Reimbursement Accounts allow members to “bank” unused funds over consecutive benefit years for use when the funds are needed.
