AmeriHealth® New Jersey Protect

Individual and family coverage

In collaboration with the New Jersey Individual Health Coverage Program, AmeriHealth New Jersey is offering a new plan to address the needs of uninsured New Jersey residents who have pre-existing medical conditions. Our NJ Protect plan makes it easier to obtain the health coverage you need and is available to you if you meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, a non-citizen national, or a legal alien
  • Must be a New Jersey resident
  • Must have been uninsured for at least the last six months
  • Must have a pre-existing medical condition

Our NJ Protect plan offers comprehensive health care benefits and the freedom to choose providers from within a network of quality doctors and hospitals. You can also use a doctor or hospital that is not in the network; however, you will pay more for these services and may have to submit a claim for reimbursement. Though we encourage you to select a Primary Care Physician (PCP) when you enroll in AmeriHealth NJ Protect plan, you do not have to select a PCP.
